A new edition of what was once one of the most famous and best-selling Yorkshire novels has recently been published, by Jeremy Mills Publishing Ltd., of Huddersfield.
First appearing in 1912 to almost universal acclaim, Windyridge remained in print for about 50 years. Now it returns, with a specially prepared 52-page Introduction that tells a new generation about the Bradford-born author, W. Riley (1866-1961) and the remarkable and unusual story of how the book was written, and how it was received.
Windyridge can be purchased directly from Jeremy Mills Publishing in hardback or paperback, from good local bookshops or from various online retailers.
All royalties from Windyridge will be donated equally to the Bible Society and the Leeds Children's Holiday Camp Association. Willie Riley supported and championed both of these charities for many years.
